In 2003, I opened up my private massage practice in Watertown, MA.  As an orthopedic massage therapist, I specialized in treating chronic pain and sports injuries and helping restore proper range of motion.

In 2006, I became certified through LMT Success Group as a medical massage practitioner, giving me the knowledge and ability to work with physicians in a complementary healthcare partnership.

Aside from helping clients with stress-busting and knot-eliminating massages, I regularly write articles on my self-care blog, which has been featured on Feedspot’s Top 90 Massage Blog list.

In 2016, I started my journey in self-publishing on Amazon and have to this date published 12 books. Two years later,  I launched Cupping Massage Mastery, an online course showing massage therapists how to incorporate massage cupping into their bodywork practice.

How Did I Get into Massage?

After college, motivated to make a difference in the world, I decided to volunteer and teach English in Costa Rica. On returning home, I continued teaching English at a prominent language school but realized that I had lost my passion for the profession.

Deciding to become a massage therapist was deeply influenced by growing up with a filmmaker father whose life was inundated with pain patches, neck braces, and high stress. The countless hours perched behind his editors like a crazed puppeteer took an inevitable toll on his body and well-being.

For as long as I can remember, my father had a standing weekly massage appointment to manage his aches and pains. He would return noticeably more relaxed and less cranky.

Seeing how my father benefited from regular massage, I decided to book a session with his massage therapist to explore the idea of changing careers and becoming a massage therapist. The massage experience positively impacted me that I quickly enrolled in massage therapy school and soon realized my true calling.

My Back Pain Story

For 20 years, I’ve been massaging clients dealing with low back pain. But when the tables were turned, and I was the one who injured my back, it wasn’t massage that healed my low back pain; instead, it was a series of highly targeted exercises!

Inspired by my experience with reversing my severe low back pain and fueled by a vibrant enthusiasm to share these exercise routines with anyone who has back pain, I began to research how to cure back pain at home passionately quickly. I learned a wealth of information and put everything into an illustrated book called The Essential Lower Back Pain Exercise Guide.

In The Essential Lower Back Pain Exercise Guide, you’ll learn about my 21-Day, Low Back Pain Relief Program that anyone can use to eliminate low back pain, reverse bad posture, and get better sleep.

The highly targeted back exercises that I share in my book work even if you have sciatica, herniated discs, or degenerative disc disease.

Some people like to use these exercises to avoid back pain altogether, even if they just get that occasional back strain or spasm.

And some people find these exercises work perfectly in conjunction with a regular massage, acupuncture, or chiropractic routine.

If you can make time to do a daily 15- to 30-minute back pain relief exercise routine, you’ll soon be on your way to feeling good again. It’s essential to feel your best to make the most of every day.
