Remember when a parent or a teacher or any other type of adult told you to sit up straight and not slouch? They weren’t just doing it to be mean or to be in charge, but they probably didn’t realize the health benefits of telling you to adjust your posture positively.

If you slump down in a chair, you’re reducing your lunch capacity and could also be impacting your muscles in ways that you don’t even realize, such as giving yourself digestive issues. However, it can be difficult always to sit up straight, which is why there are things you can do, whether at work or home, to give your spine a straightening boost.
